The M-346 Type 2 is the modified version of the advanced trainer built by the Clavian company Finmeccanica (Yes, it has the same name as an Italian aerospace company).
This model is used as an attacker, thanks to its low speed and very high stability.
This plane is projected to be a low cost, high performance attacker.
Developement and service
In 2013, the Clavian advanced trainer M-346 Master was largely used by many air forces all over the world.
In 2014, the Clavian air force wanted to substitute the old light attackers F-1 and SU-24 with a new generation fighter maintaining low costs.
Mid-2014, Finmeccanica began to develop an attacker version of the trainer with the objective of manufacturing a low cost, high performance aircraft.
At the end of 2015, the 1st prototype of the new attacker took off from Villanova AFB during the Clavian air show.
At the beginning of 2016 the plane was tested on bombing drills with dummy targets.
Mid-2016, Finmeccanica signed a contract with Okchabursk Technologies for the development of a desert attacker variant for the Yuktobanian Air Force.
At the end of the 2016, a series of tests were conducted at the Jilachi Desert for performance in high temperatures.
Mid-2017, Finmeccanica signed a contract with Grunder Industries for a V/STOL variant of the attacker for the Belkan Air Force.
At the end of 2017, tests were conducted at the Waldreich Mountains.
At the end of 2018, Finmeccanica signed a contract with MacMillan Heavy Industries for a naval variant of the attacker for the Emmerian Air Force.
On November 2018, test were conducted on the Clavian aircraft carrier RMC Domaine III (Regia Marina Claviana / Royal Clavian Navy).
Mid-2019, the development of the M-346 type 2 was finished.
On August 2019, the 1st M-346 Type 2 was given to the Clavian Air Force with the name of M-346/2 Super Master.
On October 2019, the 1st M-346 Type 2 naval variant was given to the Clavian navy with the name of CA-346 Super Master.
On December 2019, the 1st M-346 Type 2 desert attacker variant was given to the Yuktobanian air force with the name of M-346/2Y Super Master.
On December 2019, the 1st M-346 Type 2 V/STOL variant was given to the Belkan air force with the name of M-346/2B Super Lehrer.
On February 2020, the 1st M-346 naval variant was given to the Emmerian Navy with the name of CA-346E Super Master.
