The 77th TMS (Tactical Mercenary Squadron) Taranis is highly unpredictable team which consists of Rikhart Harken who goes by the TAC name Kara (and formally Rota) which both are based on valkyrie names and the squadron name is based after the celtic god of thunder Taranis, both the wing commander (and former wingman) both fly MiG-31R Foxhound-C but the are known to fly other varaintions of MiG's and Su's. Their offence tactics consist of Rikhart Harken using air to air weapons while Rota uses air to ground weapons so they both comploment each others weakness in a way. Their main defencive tactics are the "Airborne Crazy Ivan" techniques:
Airborne Crazy Ivan:[]
The "Airbaffles" is the area in the air directly behind a aircraft through which a airfame-mounted radar cannot pick up. This blind spot is caused by the engines, from the noise and heat of the aircraft machinery. Following a aircraft by hiding in its airbaffles was a fighter pilot technique used by Rikhart Harken during the Belkan War, which led to the tactics of "Clearing the Airbaffles". Variants of this technique include the "Airborne Crazy Ivan", an airbaffle-clearing manoeuvre intended to bring the followed aircraft onto an attack heading and typically used by Rikhart Harken and later the Taranis Team, and "Angles and Air-dangles", a 30sec - 1min process of rapid direction and speed changes to ensure any stealth aircraft wasn't lock on. Following a aircraft in its Airbaffles was dangerous, because of the high risk of collision. Following the development of COFFIN, which negated the airbaffles blind spot, such tactics fell out of use.
